Something New for Me - A Fast

Today I am breaking the end of my 3‑day fast, and I feel stronger, clearer, and more connected to myself than when I began. These last few days have not just been about denying the body— they have been about feeding my spirit. I pushed through hunger, tiredness, distraction, and moments of doubt, and I learned what I am truly capable of when I make a decision and honor it.

My mind feels sharpened. My heart feels focused. I proved to myself that I can do hard things, even when no one is watching, even when no one is cheering, even when the only motivation I had was the promise of a better version of me.

This fast reminded me that:

• I am in control of my choices.
• My body is strong.
• My spirit is resilient.
• Discipline brings transformation.

I spent these days not merely abstaining, but listening— to my body, to God, to quiet spaces inside myself that I often rush past. I realized how much I can grow when I silence the noise and make room for clarity, healing, and alignment.

I am walking forward renewed. Recommitted. Refocused. I am proud of myself for finishing what I started. I am proud of myself for choosing growth over comfort. I am proud of myself for showing up for me.

As I move past this fast, I carry with me a deeper strength, a cleaner mind, and a heart ready for the next chapter. I don’t just feel empowered— I feel transformed.

Personal Journal Journey

Date: 10/25/2025

Today, I start this journey of self. I honor the journey I walk as a single Black mother. Every day is a balancing act — protecting, teaching, loving, and guiding my children while navigating a world that does not always see us fully. I acknowledge the weight I carry, yet I also recognize the resilience that flows through me.

I am strength. I am perseverance. I am love embodied.

Some days, the challenges feel heavy, and the exhaustion is real. But I remind myself: my presence, my voice, my care — it matters. The lessons I teach, the values I instill, the warmth I give — these are seeds that grow into power, confidence, and courage.

I am not just surviving; I am shaping generations. I am teaching my children that their dreams are valid, their voices are important, and their heritage is beautiful.

Today, I give myself grace. I celebrate the small victories, the moments I smiled despite the weight, the times I spoke truth to power. I draw strength from my ancestors, from my community, and from the love that fuels me.

Closing Affirmation:
I am resilient. I am seen. I am enough. My strength is endless, and my love is boundless.

Today, I remind myself that my strength does not only live in what I do — it lives in what I believe, what I dream, and what I imagine. As a Black mother, there are days when the world feels heavy — when I carry the weight of love, protection, and perseverance all at once. But I have learned that even in the most exhausting moments, my ideas can breathe life back into me.

My thoughts are sacred. My creativity is power. The ideas that come to me — in quiet moments, in chaos, in prayer — are seeds of strength planted by faith and experience. They remind me that I am more than my struggles; I am a builder, a nurturer, and a visionary.

Every new thought I write down, every dream I dare to shape, becomes a piece of armor — soft but unbreakable. My ideas help me rise when I’m tired, speak life when I’m uncertain, and guide my children to see possibilities beyond their circumstances.

Today, I choose to honor my mind as much as my heart. I will trust the ideas that stir in me — because they are not random. They are reminders of my resilience and my purpose.

Closing Affirmation:
My thoughts hold power. My ideas are divine. Through them, I find strength, creativity, and peace — not just for myself, but for the generations that follow me.
